The top 5 sabbatical experiences so far:

  5. Walking 2.2 km on the wall around Lugo. This wall was constructed in the 3rd century.  We found it interesting to see the different architectural styles on both sides of the wall as we walked. This wall is the only fully intact wall existing in a city in the world.

  4. Using the Anabaptist Prayer Book, which gives us daily spiritual reflections.

  3.  Experiencing the culture of Spain, with its food, stores, and language. We are thankful the girls have studied Spanish and do well at communicating for us.

  2. Touring a monastery at Samos and attending the Vespers service.  Seeing amazing murals in the hallways and beautiful gardens with a fountain.

  1.  Walking on the Camino, knowing that millions have walked before us and seeing other peregrinos along the way.

¡Buen camino!

With Marlene and Fernando
May 5 at Sonido de Alabanza in Cicero, Illinois

May 12 at Cedar Falls (Iowa) Mennonite Church

May 19 at The Rock Church of the Quad Cities, Davenport, Iowa
Obviously, I experienced a windy day!

May 26 at Willow Springs Mennonite Church, Tiskilwa, Illinois
What a blessing to share the morning with the worshiping community.
I walked out of this door and will return in a couple of months.
I will remember the words above the door for the journey ahead.
